Amy Butler

Amy is a senior dance artist and rehearsal director for Stopgap Dance Company, rehearsal director for Akram Khan Company specifically for their work for young people, choreographer and performer for Highly Sprung Performance Co. and performer and rehearsal director for Sophie Nüzel.

Since 2020 Amy has been instrumental in the development of ‘Home Practice’ a YouTube channel specifically for dance and designed to be inclusive and available to all. One of her main areas of research is in inclusive movement practices and last year she was awarded DYCP funding to continue to input into this area of her work.

Amy’s previous work includes performing ‘Adrenaline Rush’ at the Royal Albert Hall for the Festival of Remembrance, ‘Hope’ at Wembley Arena for the Paralympic Home Coming event and ‘Abide with Me’ at the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.

She has extensive dance theatre experience working with Aracaladanza, Cas public, Lastheatre, State of Emergency, Telling Tales and Highly Sprung Performance Co. At London Southbank University Amy created and facilitated a movement module for actors.
