Claire Lambert

Supported by Birmingham’s strong network of youth dance training, Claire was introduced to movement at the age of fifteen and graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with Postgraduate Diploma in Performance, having completed her BA(Hons) in Dance Theatre at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Claire is a freelance dance artist, working mainly as a devising performer for multiple directors and is currently funded by Arts Council England to lead on two projects; a DYCP and a NLPG. Recent dance work includes new work with Beyond Words, CoDa Dance, Morvell Dance, Laura Booth, Lîla Dance, Four Hands and Opening Ceremony of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games (Corey Baker). Claire is a co-director of Dance Co-operative Birmingham and founding member of Freelance Dancer: The Movement for Dance Workers.
 
Aerial performance work includes CastAway (gyroscopic flying rig), aerial rugby player (Rugby League World Cup-Robby Graham), R&D for concept film vertical dancing on cliffs (Kate Lawrence) and vertical dance piece Home (Upswing Aerial) for Coventry City of Culture 2021. Claire performed in the Olivier award-winning Angels in America at the National Theatre, working with Steven Hoggett, Finn Caldwell and Marianne Elliott before continuing on to R&D for National Theatre Studio’s New Work Department and has performed with Filskit Theatre (Shanghai), Beautiful Thing for GDIF18, Casson & Friends, James Wilton, Tavaziva Dance, Highly Sprung, Town Hall Gospel Choir, Birmingham Opera Company and in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony
