Daniel Lukehurst

Daniel Lukehurst is a Birmingham-based choreographer, composer, and performer in the UK’s contemporary dance scene. He trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, completed an apprenticeship with Company Chameleon, and has since developed a distinct style through his work with dance companies across Europe.  Lukehurst often explores themes like mental health, personal relationships and identity, combining highly physical, emotive choreography with grounded story telling.

In 2023, he staged 1, 2 Punch, a double bill performance tackling themes of love, regret, and men’s mental health, composed of two pieces: I Can See Us and Ta/To/Me. Both works integrate movement, spoken word, and music to convey the emotional complexities of personal experiences. He is also the founder of Daniel Lukehurst Creations, a dance company that creates work for diverse settings and audiences
