About this Class

Capoeira is a truly holistic art form, of African roots born in Brazil, where the main objective is to improvise and develop creative solutions and expressions through movement and music. Mascote’s workshops and regular residencies are focused or clean structured content, which is designed to be able to work as a base for semi-structured improvisation,choreography and of course play. Capoeira is a body game, a body language and acultural expression of liberation.

Mascote believes consistency, not intensity, is key .He has had over 20 years of Capoeiraexperience, and for over 15 years has been working professionally, teaching and performing Capoeira the music, movement and martial art. He has directed, conducted workshops, and performed in numerous international festivals and arts events worldwide, to great acclaim, and is internationally recognised, having taught and performed all over Europe, and as far away as South Africa, India, South Korea, Russia, Indonesia, Japan,Malaysia and, of course, Brazil.

Booking Information

We have recently moved to a new booking system. As part of this change, from 1st April 2025, the first time you book a class or event you’ll need to register your account. If you’re a regular booker, you can register a new account with the same email as before. Don’t worry, it’s a one-time step.  Here you can fund the step-by-step instructions to do this.

Brum Pro Class:  high-quality dance class at a professional level

This class is ideal for anyone who considers themself a professional dance artist. Recent graduates and second or third-year vocational dance students who wants to continue their development outside of term-time training are also welcome. The tutor will be from the regional professional dance community.

Accessibility is important to us, and we offer an inclusive class adhering to individual needs.

Classes can be booked online up until 15 minutes after the class has started.  Spaces are subject to availability and not guaranteed.
