Janine Fletcher and Kristin Loeer

Mon 25th Mar 2024, 10:30am

About the class

Janine (dance-artist) and Kristin (somatic experiencing practitioner) will co-lead a dance class that invites you to tune into sensations, feelings, imagery, and memories that may arise as you move.

In the class you will learn some basic somatic experiencing techniques*, be guided through movement improvisations and work as a group to co-create a short sequence. You will be invited to move your body in a way that feels right for you.

There will be dancing, chatting and hopefully some laughing too.

*somatic experiencing is a body-orientated approach to healing trauma and other stress disorders. Please note this class is inspired by somatic experiencing techniques. We will be working with what arises for each participant, but we do not expect to lead any exercises that will trigger traumatic memories/stress disorders. You can read more about SE and the creator Peter Levine here
