About this Class
Dancers will begin class with a guided improvisation to connect with their morning bodies and explore individuality, flow and precision in their movement. Claire will then offer taught sequences, described using a blend of instruction and open language. These sequences will combine expansive and fluid movement with dynamic isolations. Taught material is a template from which dancers are encouraged to explore their own texture and artistry, with Claire encouraging live ‘in the moment’ movement translations. Claire will lead dancers through the class at a pace that suits the energy in the room and explain at the start of class that dancers can “press pause” to ask questions and/or take breaks if observing movement feels more useful. Claire would describe her content as embodied, expansive and playful with her goal for moving bodies in the space to find strength in individuality and joy in dancing with others. Expect a lively playlist and to warm down feeling lifted.
