Jean Abreu

About the class

Jean’s movement practice draws from multiple approaches to physical enquiry &experimentation. As well as technique, Jean’s classes focus on the thinking and decision-making process that accompanies movement. Through improvisation, floorwork, circularity, pulsation & breath, Jean’s methodology encourages dance artists to search for movement impulses that are urgent and necessary, and that come from a primal origin. Moving away from fixed movement structures and forms, the class aims to broaden the spectrum of possibilities the body can offer.

His workshop is designed to help participants develop their ability to focus on the continuous process of making choices and real-time composition, as performers, dancers and social beings.
